Wear Pink. Give Hope. May 28.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 29, 2009) — Throughout the month of May the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, in partnership with Lutheran Cancer Center, transformed downtown Fort Wayne into a sea of pink ribbons for our “Turn the Town Pink” campaign. For a donation, people had the opportunity to honor a loved one with each ribbon. In total, ribbon sales along with Wendy’s, Applebees and Marathon promotions raised more than $87,000. continue…

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 4, 2009) — If you live in Fort Wayne, Indiana, then you have probably noticed that May is “Turn the Town Pink” time. Throughout the month, the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, in partnership with Lutheran Cancer Center, will be transforming downtown Fort Wayne into a sea of pink ribbons. FREE concert at Jefferson Pointe!

The New Critics played to celebrate Turn the Town Pink Friday, May 29, at Jefferson Pointe, 6:30–8:30 pm. There was live music, pink ribbon and Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer apparel for sale, as well as breast cancer awareness information provided by Lutheran Cancer Center. The New Critics are a new–up–and–coming Alternative/Indie Rock Band from Fort Wayne, Indiana, led by singer/guitarist, Chris Danby, and percussionist, Ramsey Davis, both Canterbury High School Grads. Their original sound is well recognized throughout Fort Wayne and they plan to perform for wider audiences this summer. They have completed a seven-song LP, and will have a full album recorded by August 19, 2009.
